Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized the declaration of an emergency martial law without justification, saying that it is an act against the main spirit of democracy and that it cannot be tolerated for any reason.

Mayor Oh held an emergency briefing at City Hall this afternoon and emphasized that those who participated in the destruction of democracy should be held accountable through thorough investigation.

In particular, the entry of martial law forces into the National Assembly was a direct violation of the separation of powers and a behavior that reversed the clock of the development of the history of the Republic of Korea.

Mayor Oh said that the biggest reason for the incident was the extreme "bulletproof National Assembly" of administrative and judicial impeachment for Democratic Party Chairman Lee Jae-myung, adding that he will consider a solution as a senior member of the ruling party as it is necessary to re-examine the next state operation structure.

Mayor Oh also said that it is the people's power to maintain their daily lives even in the face of sudden political turmoil, and that the Seoul Metropolitan Government will do its best without wavering, as citizens do.
