In the aftermath of the emergency martial law incident, aides above the chief secretary of the president's office expressed their resignation en masse.

The president's office is silent as Yoon Suk Yeol's president has also suspended his schedule since the lifting of martial law.

Reporter Cho Yong-sung reports.

President Yoon Suk Yeol said he would accept the demands of the National Assembly by issuing a declaration of emergency martial law in six hours.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President] We've withdrawn our troops. We will lift martial law by accepting the demands of the National Assembly through a Cabinet meeting.]

Since then, the presidential office has not expressed its position on emergency martial law while meeting with the prime minister and ruling party representatives.

Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok and three other chiefs and senior secretaries and more staff expressed their resignation.

A meeting of senior secretaries was held in a gloomy atmosphere after the overnight emergency martial law,
Chief of Staff Chung, who presided over the
meeting, reportedly said it with the intention of considering the issue of his future collectively.

However, considering the situation in which the presidential impeachment bill will be processed in the National Assembly, it is unclear whether the aides' intention to resign will be accepted. Some point out that it is not easy to escape the responsibility of aides by resigning, such as pointing out that it failed to stop President

Yoon from declaring martial law.

It is also questionable how many replacements there will be to replace the existing staff in a crisis.President

Yoon has also stopped the scheduled drug response inspection meeting and has not made any moves.

President Yoon's future schedule, which delayed his official move by postponing his first schedule after the emergency martial law incident, is also expected to be inevitable.
