Prosecutors are calling back this afternoon to investigate former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, who was arrested urgently on charges of abuse of authority.

The prosecution is also investigating military officials involved in the emergency martial law incident by calling them as witnesses.

I'm connecting with the reporter. Reporter Kim Dahyun!

Since when has former Minister Kim been re-examined?

[Reporter]
Former Minister Kim, who voluntarily appeared at the prosecution early this morning, moved to the eastern Seoul detention center after nearly six hours of investigation.

The prosecution guarantees former Minister Kim's right to rest for now, and is calling him back from around 5 p.m. today to investigate.

When the prosecution's investigation began, former Minister Kim was found to have replaced the mobile phone used during the emergency martial law.

The prosecution is said to have arrested former Minister Kim urgently, believing that he may remove the evidence.

The prosecution is expected to secure the mobile phone that former Minister Kim originally used and ask how it was replaced.

Who are the military officials that the prosecution is calling to investigate today as a reference?

[Reporter]
Jeong Jin-pal, deputy chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Lee Sang-hyun, commander of the 1st Airborne Brigade of the Army Special Warfare Command.

Lieutenant General Jeong Jin-pal was appointed as the deputy commander of the martial law command on the night of the 3rd when martial law was declared.

The 1st Airborne Brigade is one of two battalions that were dispatched to the National Assembly during the emergency martial law crisis.

Brigadier General Lee Sang-hyun has insisted that he was instructed by Special Warfare Commander Kwak Jong-geun to take live ammunition at the time of the incident, but did not follow it.

Brigadier General Lee also said he was told by Commander Kwak that he had received an upper call to bring out lawmakers who were about to vote, and ordered the unit to be beaten back after being briefed on the situation of confrontation with lawmakers and aides.

The prosecution is expected to check the situation in detail on the night of the 3rd for military officials who have watched the emergency martial law incident closely.

So far, I'm Kim Da-hyun of YTN at the Special Investigation Headquarters of the Prosecution Service.
