Two people, including a Korean tourist, were killed when a large tree collapsed in a famous tourist attraction in Bali, Indonesia.

According to CNN Indonesia on the 11th local time, a large banyan tree collapsed and hit tourists in the Monkey Forest, a major tourist destination in the Ubud region of Bali, the afternoon before.

Monkey Forest is a tourist destination where you can see long-tailed monkeys walking through the wooded forests.

The injured tourists were taken to the hospital, but two people, a 42-year-old Korean tourist and a 32-year-old French national, died.

In addition, a 43-year-old Korean female tourist was injured and treated.

A video of what appeared to be the situation at the time of the accident was posted on social media, showing a large tree falling toward people and tourists screaming and avoiding.

Local media reported that strong winds in Monkey Forest at the time caused several trees to fall, and that trees whose roots weakened during the rainy season should have been logging in advance to prevent accidents.

Ubud National Police Agency Commissioner Gustinoman Sudarsana says he is working with Korean and French consulates, including informing the victims' families of the accident.

The Bali branch of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia informed the victims' families of the accident and said the bereaved families will discuss funeral procedures after arriving in Bali.

In addition, as the rainy season begins in earnest in Indonesia, flood and landslide damage continues, and he advised people to be careful of accidents and avoid flood areas around forest roads and large trees.
