Former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, a key figure in the emergency martial law crisis, tried to make an extreme choice at the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul, where he was imprisoned.
It happened at around 11:50 p.m., just before the arrest warrant was issued, and it was found that the correctional staff found the scene and stopped it.
[Credit Hae / Head of the Department of Justice's Correctional Headquarters: There was a case where I gave up trying as soon as I arrived and opened the door. Currently, I have been reported that there is no health problem because I have been accommodated in a shelter room.]
This fact was revealed during the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee's pending questioning, which has since been followed by a dispute over it.
[Jeong Chung-rae / Chairman of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee: Did he attempt to kill himself because the prosecution drove the mob of civil war to former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, not Yoon Suk Yeol?].]
[Park Sung-jae / Minister of Justice: There must be a lot of reasons for the person who tried to commit suicide, but I don't know.]
Suspicions are rising that former Minister Kim may be trying to take responsibility by expressing his intention to give up his calling just before the arrest examination and even attempting to make an extreme choice.
There are many voices that the investigative agency, which competes for investigation
, should thoroughly identify the true nature of the case.
