ChatGPT, a globally popular artificial intelligence (AI) model, caused a connection failure on the 11th local time.
According to the Internet monitoring site Downdetector, ChatGPT experienced a service failure from 6 p.m. on the 11th (8 a.m. on the 12th in Korea).
The number of connection failures soared to 27,000 in an instant and has since decreased.
OpenAI said it is currently "reported that login is slow and some features are deteriorating," adding, "We are working to identify the problem and distribute corrections."
OpenAI did not reveal the cause of the failure, but some analysts say it is due to the launch of a service loaded on Apple's voice assistant "Siri" from that day.
Apple has distributed operating systems with ChatGPT on its devices such as iPhones since this day.
Siri uses ChatGPT to provide answers to complex questions or problems.
