Daegu Mayor Hong Joon Pyo expressed his opinion that it is difficult to apply the crime of rebellion against President Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of martial law due to high-level governance.

Mayor Hong questioned on his SNS, saying that the right to declare emergency martial law is a presidential authority on state affairs and is not subject to judicial review as an act of high-level governance.

He then added that he did not know if it would be a crime of abuse of authority, saying that it could lead to rebellion just because the judgment on the grounds of emergency martial law was inappropriate.

Mayor Hong argued that the frame of rebellion is a conspiracy by Lee Jae-myung, who is running out of time due to judicial risk, to push for an early presidential election.

However, he criticized President Yoon, saying that even if there is justification for the purpose, the policy will not succeed without the significance of the means.
