16th anniversary of IPTV..."Long-standing regulatory reform".

Marking the 16th anniversary of IPTV's launch, an event was held in which media industry workers and experts gathered to seek ways to strengthen their competitiveness.

The Korea IPTV Broadcasting Association held the "2024 IPTV Day Event" at Hotel Naru Seoul this morning (12th) and awarded commendations to officials who contributed to the development of the media and content ecosystem.

KT Vice President Lim Hyun-kyu and others were special speakers and insisted on the need for multilateral cooperation and support between the government and institutions for new challenges of IPTV.

A special discussion was also held jointly organized by the Korean Broadcasting Association and the Korean Media Policy Association under the theme of "The Direction of Regulatory Reform for the Continuous Growth of Paid Broadcasting."

Lee Byung-seok, president of the Korea IPTV Broadcasting Association, said the domestic media industry is in an unprecedented crisis, stressing the need for reforms to eliminate long-standing regulations and systems.
