Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, who heads the People's Power City and Provincial Governors' Council, has withdrawn his previous position of opposing the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol and effectively voted for the impeachment.

Mayor Yoo said on social media today (12th), "We withdraw our previous position that impeachment should be avoided," adding, "I hope that the National Assembly, the representative body of the people, respects the will of the people."

He then explained that President Yoon's resignation is inevitable, but he thought there was a lot of concern in the political environment after his resignation or impeachment, but from today's statement, the president's perception of the situation itself is still wrong and cannot calm the current public anger.

As a result, he stressed the need to prevent the decline in national competitiveness, such as continued public anxiety, confusion in state affairs, and a fall in external credibility.

Earlier on the 9th, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok said through the People's Power Provincial Governors' Council that impeachment should not be done to prevent the suspension of the constitution, and that President Yoon should step down as a second term and form an emergency cabinet.
