The National Archives of Korea has decided to ban the investigation of the late Chae Sang-byung and the disposal of records related to the Itaewon disaster.The ban on the disposal of records related to corporal Chae

was requested by the High-ranking Government Offices of Crime Investigation, and the presidential office, the National Security Office, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Navy Marine Corps Command were not abolished for the next five years in connection with the investigation and investigation of the death of corporal Chae.

At the same time, the Korea Archives announced that records related to the fact-finding of the disaster requested by the "Special Investigation Committee for the Truth and Prevention of the Reoccurrence of the Itaewon Disaster" should be preserved until the end of the special investigation committee's activities.

In this regard, the National Archives will receive a list of records in advance when evaluating the records of the target institution, check whether the target records are included, and conduct on-site inspections to prevent the target records from being discarded.
