Yoon's second impeachment vote is just a day away, and the ruling party has emerged as the biggest variable in the impeachment vote as the party's internal strife erupted in the wake of the president's statement yesterday.

The Democratic Party has repeatedly appealed to the ruling party to join the impeachment.

I'm connecting with the National Assembly reporter, reporter Son Hyo-jung!

In order for the impeachment bill to pass the National Assembly, the key is how many votes there will be in the ruling party.

Please tell us the atmosphere of the ruling party in detail today.

[Reporter]
Yes, not only close Dong-hoon circles but also pro-Yoon Seok-yeol lawmakers believe that the impeachment motion of President Yoon is likely to be passed this time, unlike last time.

Under the assumption that all opposition parties agree, eight votes must be approved by the ruling party to exceed 200 votes.

So far, seven people, mainly close and neutral lawmakers, have expressed their public approval.

Representative Kim Sang-wook, who participated in the impeachment vote earlier, held a one-man protest in front of the National Assembly's main office today.

It is true that cracks are also appearing within the party leadership, which has opposed impeachment due to party theories.

Representative Han Dong-hoon turned from "orderly resignation" to "pro-impeachment" after President Yoon's statement yesterday, and even convened an ethics committee to discuss the expulsion of the president and his leaving the party.

Chin-Kye Shin Ji-ho, head of strategic planning, said in a CBS radio interview that emergency martial law could be sufficient grounds for disciplinary action,

The Supreme Council member Kim Jong-hyuk also said yesterday that the president broke his promise to leave his term to the party.

However, the internal feud over the impeachment vote seems to deepen as some criticize the leadership of the representative centered on the pro-Yoon-gye.

Supreme Council member Kim Jae-won said on YTN radio that a representative expressed his approval for impeachment without sufficient discussion, and pointed out that he would like to make a careful decision as party leader.

There are still voices advocating for President Yoon.

In a phone call with YTN, senior lawmaker Chin Yoon-gye criticized Han's behavior as hasty at a time when it was uncertain whether the crime of rebellion would be established, and that the president's expulsion and exit was also a way of cutting the dead.

In the meantime, Kwon Sung-dong, the new floor leader, plans to hold a general meeting of lawmakers tomorrow to discuss whether to attend the impeachment vote, but for now, he is still opposed to impeachment.

If so, let's look at the situation of the opposition party, including the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party of Korea is appealing for the ruling party to join the party to prevent it from not being able to open the voting box for the impeachment motion due to the absence of ruling party lawmakers.

Representative Lee Jae-myung issued a statement at the National Assembly a little while ago, urging lawmakers of the People's Power to participate in the vote in favor of impeachment.

He stressed that history will remember your choices, saying, "What you have to protect is not the power of the people, but the lives of the people."

During President Yoon's statement yesterday, Lee criticized the public for declaring a war of madness, and said impeachment is the quickest and surest way to end the chaos.

The Democratic Party is also closely watching the ruling party's changing direction of votes.

Although he says he cannot be relieved yet, he is encouragingly looking at the situation in which a series of declarations in favor of impeachment are being made within the ruling party.

Supreme Council member Jeon Hyun-hee said on CBS radio that he believes the number of ruling party lawmakers in favor of impeachment will increase after the president's statement, and predicted that it is likely to increase to double digits.

In the midst of this, Cho Kuk, the leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, lost his parliamentary seat as he was sentenced to two years in prison ahead of the impeachment vote. Some predicted that one vote in favor of impeachment

would be reduced, but the process of succession of proportional representation has been completed, which will not affect the vote.

The plenary session is also being held today, so please tell us what agenda you are deliberating on.

[Reporter]
Yes, the second impeachment motion of President Yoon Suk Yeol I mentioned earlier is reported to the plenary session today.

As in the first one, the main point is that President Yoon violated national sovereignty by unconstitutional and illegal emergency martial law that did not meet the requirements for martial law.

Opposition parties explained that they focused on the unconstitutionality and illegality of declaring emergency martial law except for other reasons for impeachment in order to shorten the impeachment trial period by the Constitutional Court.

The opposition party plans to hold a plenary session at 5 p.m. tomorrow to push for a vote.

In today's plenary session, a second urgent question will also be held regarding the emergency martial law situation.

The opposition party will focus on investigating the circumstances of martial law against the State Council members, including Prime Minister Han Deok-soo and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Choi Sang-mok,

In yesterday's statement issued by President Yoon, parts that contradict those involved are also expected to be intensively examined.

So far, I'm Son Hyo-jung of YTN in the National Assembly.
