While Cho Kuk, former leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, was sentenced to two years in prison for corruption in children's entrance exams and lost his parliamentary seat, Baek Sun-hee, a professor of Seoul Theological Seminary, will take over the position of proportional representation.

The National Election Commission said Professor Baek Sun-hee, who was 13th in the list of candidates for proportional representation, was chosen as the successor due to the loss of Cho's position as a former representative.

The NEC explained that if there is a "crowd" under the Public Official Election Act, successors will be selected according to the ranking listed on the list of candidates for proportional representation of the party within 10 days of notice.

As a result, all 12 members of the Innovation Party, including Professor Baek, are expected to participate in the second impeachment motion of the president of Yoon Suk Yeol tomorrow (14th).
