A man in his 50s was fined for hitting a golf ball in another person's face and injuring him without following caddie instructions at a golf course.

The Chuncheon District Court fined 54-year-old A 3 million won on charges of negligence.

A was put on trial in November 2022 for hitting a golf ball without a caddie's signature at a golf course in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, and hitting a golf ball in the face of a woman in her 50s playing in another hole, causing concussion and other injuries.

According to the investigation, B's group, who was playing golf before A at the time, did not get out of the 18th hole, but A hit the golf ball without the caddie's instructions.

During the trial, Mr. A claimed that he saw the previous team's golf cart moving outside and decided that he had left the green.

However, the court did not accept A's claim and sentenced him to a fine, citing that the victim and caddies stated that the victim was around the hole cup on the green at the time and that no agreement was reached.
