The People's Power criticized Cho Kuk, former leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, who was sentenced to two years in prison, as a statement that harms the foundation of the rule of law, claiming that Park Ji-won of the Democratic Party will be pardoned and reinstated when the new regime is established.

Kwak Kyu-taek, a senior spokesman, issued a comment and said it was very inappropriate for former representative Cho to talk about "amnesty and lottery" before he was even imprisoned, adding that lawmaker Park herself is also a defendant who is tried in the West Sea shooting incident.

He then pointed out that it is inevitable that criminals are paid for their crimes, but the Democratic Party seems to be in a power game, calling for a new regime and referring to the president's powers of amnesty and lottery.
