The Daekyung Line, a metropolitan railway that connects Gumi and Gyeongsan in Gyeongsangbuk-do with Daegu at the center, will begin its full-fledged operation.

In line with this, the wide-area transfer system for public transportation was implemented in Daegu and eight surrounding cities and counties, which expanded the economic and living areas centered on Daegu.

The train that says "Gumi" at the final station glides in.

The Daegu Metropolitan Railway 'Daegyeong Line', which departs from Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, passes through Daegu and Chilgok to Gumi, will open.

The 62km section of the existing Gyeongbu Line railroad was renovated and 7 stations are operated 100 times a day.

In the future, we plan to extend the route to Gimcheon and add more stations to Daegu city center and Chilgok-gun.

[Lee Sung-hae / Chairman of the National Railroad: We reduced the cost of the project by using the Gyeongbu Line. So, more economical and more efficient transportation has been introduced. You can see it like this. A plan to extend further from Gumi and Gyeongsan in the future....]

Nine local governments connected by wide-area railways will also start the 'Public Transport wide-area transfer system'.

The city bus can be replaced for free and the metropolitan railway can be taken at half the price, making it easier for 3.5 million people to move.

[Heo Jun-seok / Director of Daegu Metropolitan Transportation Bureau: It will be easier for Daegu citizens to travel to North Gyeongsang Province and for North Gyeongsang Province residents to travel to Daegu City. It seems that the living area will be wider as it can be moved with cheaper public transportation costs than before. It is expected that it will greatly contribute to revitalizing the metropolitan economy by expanding the living area.

Daegyeong Line, which connects Gyeongsan, Daegu, and Gumi in the 50th minute.

With the addition of a wide-area transit system for public transportation, it is expected that Daegu and Gyeongbuk, which are promoting administrative integration, will become closer and reorganized into an economy and living area.
