South Jeolla Province Governor Kim Young-rok and 22 mayors and counties in South Jeolla Province issued a joint statement calling for the immediate impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The heads of the organizations said, "Emergency martial law is a coup marked by anti-constitutional illegality, and criminal acts are being revealed day by day," adding, "It has become clear that President Yoon Suk Yeol is a rebellion monster."

He then criticized, "The public statement on the 12th cannot be recognized as a president who thinks normally, such as defining the National Assembly and the people as targets for eradicating anti-state forces."

At the same time, he said, "The impeachment of the Yoon Suk Yeol is an order of the people and a stern judgment of the history of saving the country," stressing that "the only way to restore constitutional order is to impeach immediately."
