In a post on social media, Mayor Hong asked President Yoon Suk Yeol again, saying, "For two and a half years, the state administration has been prosecutor politics, and the problem has not been solved through dialogue and compromise, leading to an emergency martial law."
He added, "Let's not cause further confusion in the country and stop going in under the orders of the people, and the ruling and opposition parties compromise and end with an orderly resignation."
Earlier on December 3, Mayor Hong made a series of claims such as calling the martial law incident a "midnight happening" or that "emergency martial law is a high-level political act and is not subject to judicial review."
