The U.S. government said it appreciates the resilience of Korean democracy and the rule of law in response to the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk Yeol being passed by the National Assembly.

The National Security Council of the White House, the NSC, expressed this position in response to Yonhap News' written inquiries about President Yoon's impeachment.

The NSC also said, "The South Korea-U.S. alliance is strong and the U.S. is committed to peace and security on the Korean Peninsula."

"The American people will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Korean people," he said.
