Anita Heifer, the EU's chief foreign affairs and security spokesman, issued a statement noting the decision to impeach President Yoon and said the political crisis in South Korea should be resolved in a swift and orderly manner under the Constitution.
He also added that South Korea is an important strategic partner of the EU.
The British Foreign Ministry also issued a statement, saying it is closely watching the development of Korea's situation, including the passage of the impeachment bill, and expected to cooperate with Acting President Han Deok-soo.
