The Prime Minister's Office said Acting President Han Deok-soo spoke with U.S. President Joe Biden at 7:15 a.m. today (15th) to explain the current domestic situation and discuss the North Korean nuclear issue along with strengthening the South Korea-U.S. alliance.
In a phone call, Han explained that state affairs will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution and laws, and that it is important to work to maintain the Korea-U.S. alliance and strengthen the ROK-U.S. joint defense posture in the face of North Korea's nuclear threats and Russia-North Korea cooperation.
In response, U.S. President Biden expressed his gratitude and said he believes in Korean democracy and that he will work with South Korea to develop and strengthen cooperation between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan.
