Our economy will be inaugurated by the Trump administration on the 20th of next month under the acting president system.

Political instability has been added amid slowing export growth and deepening sluggish domestic demand, and the exchange rate has rarely fallen.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Choi Sang-mok held a series of ministerial meetings on economy, industry, and trade and economic and financial ministers' meetings and said he would manage the economy as stably as possible.

First of all, he said he would hold a Korean economic briefing session, referring to maintaining foreign credibility.

[Choi Sang-mok / Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance: We will dramatically strengthen incentives for foreign investment, which is the core of raising foreign credibility.]

With the launch of the Trump administration about a month away, a meeting of foreign ministers will be held with economic and diplomatic ministries participating together.

It said it will also involve the private sector's capabilities as much as possible to develop a trade response strategy.

In addition to measures to increase competitiveness in semiconductors, logistics, petrochemicals and construction, it said it would also boldly devise additional support measures for the vulnerable.

He also said that he will announce the economic policy direction for next year, which includes these details, by the end of this year.

In particular, he emphasized communication with the National Assembly.

It emphasized the passage of non-controversial bills that are directly related to industrial competitiveness, such as semiconductor, artificial intelligence, and power-related bills, but have been pushed back by political disputes.

[Choi Sang-mok / Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance: Since it is a very important time to determine the direction of our economy, we will continue to communicate more closely with the National Assembly. We will carefully explain the voices of the industry to the National Assembly so that bills that will determine the future fate of our industry, such as the Special Act on Semiconductors, the Basic Act on AI, and the Special Act on the Power grid, can be processed as much as possible within the year.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi said he would soon announce a quick implementation plan for the first half of the year that mobilized all available resources and asked small business owners to support them by holding meetings and events as originally planned.
