Sources familiar with the new product plans say Apple is planning to launch two foldable devices and ultra-thin products that are thinner than existing iPhones.
They explained that the large foldable device is designed to be used as a laptop, and when the folded screen is opened, it grows to 19 inches the size of a desktop monitor.
It also said that the small device is a foldable iPhone, and the screen will be wider than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Sources said the ultra-thin iPhone is thinner than the existing product with a thickness of 8mm, and it will be cheaper than the pro model by simplifying the camera system.
The model, scheduled for release next year, could be an alternative for consumers who want a stylish look and can give up some of the features offered by the pro model.
WSJ reported that in the case of foldable products, Apple originally tried to release large devices first to check the market's response, but it is more likely that foldable iPhones will be released first.
Sources said Apple executives are pushing for a 2026 launch, but it could take another year to fix technical problems.
The WSJ diagnosed that Apple's new product plan is not groundbreaking in that competitors are already making foldable devices, but it is a bigger change than the changes in form and function over the past few years.
"There have been relatively minor improvements in Apple's main product line in recent years, including faster chips and better cameras, but not enough to encourage users to upgrade their devices at the same pace as before," the WSJ said, calling Apple's attempt a strategy to restore stagnant sales.
