The National University Professors' Emergency Response Committee issued a statement today (16th) and emphasized that most medical schools are not prepared to teach increased freshmen, and that the selection process for medical school entrance exams should be stopped and job cuts should be made in consideration of the situation of each university.
The emergency committee pointed out that if new medical students are selected as they are now, students twice the existing quota will have to be educated together for six years.
They then argued that abnormal conditions would continue even after 10 years of completing their major training.
