A highly pathogenic avian influenza occurred at a spawning farm in Cheongyang-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.The Central Accident Response Headquarters of

high-pathogenic avian influenza said the farm owner reported a suspected case to the quarantine authorities and conducted a thorough examination, which identified it as highly pathogenic AI.

It was found that this farm has more than 140,000 chickens.

As a result, the total number of highly pathogenic AI cases confirmed at poultry farms nationwide in winter this year has increased to 11.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters sent an initial response team to restrict access, conduct killing and epidemiological investigations, and ordered a temporary suspension of farm-related livestock facilities and vehicles until 4 a.m. on the 17th.
