Acting Director Han Deok-soo Orders to Prevent African Swine Fever in Yangju

Acting President Han Deok-soo was briefed on the African swine fever situation in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, today (16th) and immediately issued a related emergency order.

Acting President Han Deok-soo first instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to carry out quarantine measures, including control of access to farms, intensive disinfection, and temporary suspension of movement, and to investigate the circumstances of the outbreak with an epidemiological investigation.

The Ministry of Environment also ordered the farms to inspect fences, search for dead wild boars, and do their best to capture them.

Related ministries and local governments were asked to actively cooperate in implementing quarantine measures.
