The Gwangju District Court sentenced 53-year-old A, who was accused of pocketing billions of won in charter fraud, to 10 years in prison, and fined eight accomplices to six months in prison.
They have been put on trial since December 2017 on charges of stealing 6.83 billion won in lease deposits by leasing 64 apartments and other real estate.
The court said that given the extent of the damage, the nature of the crime is very bad, and a severe sentence is inevitable.
