The Incheon Metropolitan Government has launched a service to establish a space restructuring plan to be designated as an "urban innovation zone" on the 65,000㎡ site around Incheon Station, the end of the Gyeongin Railway.

The Urban Innovation Zone is one of the spatial innovation zone projects being introduced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and refers to an area that can be developed without restrictions on use or density.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government plans to establish a spatial restructuring plan that considers the impact on housing, transportation, and infrastructure within 500 meters from the planned area boundary.

After that, in collaboration with KORAIL and Incheon City Corporation (iH), Incheon Station will be rebuilt as a complex station by 2032, and residential and commercial complexes, cultural facilities, and parks will be built around it.

The development of Incheon Station Complex History was also promoted in 2018, but the development was delayed for a long time because no companies participated in the public offering of private businesses due to lack of business feasibility, and was selected as a candidate for the leading spatial innovation zone by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in June last year.
