The Korea Communications Standards Commission has asked web novel platform operators to actively introduce adult menus and filter functions.

Today (17th), the Korea Communications Standards Commission held a cooperation meeting with 11 web novel platform operators, including Naver Series and Kakao Page, to revitalize self-regulation.

Web novels have recently attracted attention for a number of movies and dramas, but some sensational materials have pointed out that youth protection is needed.

The Korea Communications Standards Commission asked web novel platform operators to clearly distinguish general works from adult works and establish internal review standards to actively self-regulate them.

He also added that efforts should be made to ensure the freedom of expression of creators and to ensure the effectiveness of youth protection.
