The National Assembly's special committee on personnel hearings will be held exclusively by the opposition party this morning (18th) to appoint three currently vacant constitutional judges.

Earlier, the ruling and opposition parties finished forming a special committee on personnel hearings for the hearing of three candidates for constitutional judges recommended by the National Assembly, but the People's Power decided not to participate, saying it was impossible for the acting president to appoint a constitutional judge.

The Democratic Party of Korea said it will hold a special committee alone, saying that the hearing process cannot be delayed further in order to have a normal nine-member system, as the Constitutional Court has decided to hold the first hearing on the 27th.
