The prosecution, which is investigating the emergency martial law situation, is considering whether to hand over the case to the high-ranking government official's criminal investigation office until the last minute.

Earlier, the high-ranking government official's crime investigation office asked the prosecution and police to transfer the case of emergency martial law rebellion by today (18th).

With the police and the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit already forming a joint investigation headquarters, the prosecution is showing its will to investigate directly by giving a second summons to President Yoon Suk Yeol, who has been pointed out as the peak of the civil war.

According to the Corruption Investigations Unit Act, if the Corruption Investigations Unit requests another investigative agency with overlapping investigations, the investigative agency must respond.

If the prosecution hands over the case to the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, additional coordination is expected to proceed, including how to proceed with the investigation into President Yoon.

In addition, even if the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit investigates the emergency martial law situation, the prosecution will be in charge of the final judgment on the disposition as it does not have the authority to prosecute the rebellion.
