Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok said in a meeting with foreign reporters that uncertainties in Korea are easing and stressed that economic policies are being pursued under consultation between the ruling and opposition parties.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi made the remarks at a foreign press conference held at the Seoul Press Center with Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol today.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi explained that the uncertainty in the probationary process is easing as political uncertainty is also settled in accordance with the constitutional procedures set by the Constitution, and that Korea's constitutional and economic systems are working well to manage uncertainty.

"We will continue to operate a 24-hour monitoring system for financial and foreign exchange markets, strengthen measures to encourage foreign investment, and enhance our understanding of the solid fundamentals of the Korean economy through Korea's economic briefing," he said, citing external credibility as the top priority for economic authorities.

It also said it would immediately implement next year's budget, which amounts to 673 trillion won, from Jan. 1 and "further support measures will be prepared for the vulnerable."

He announced economic policy directions for 2025 reflecting these policies within this year and reiterated that he would actively communicate with the National Assembly to pass major economic and people's livelihood bills.

"South Korea has experienced similar political difficulties in the past, but each time, the constitutional system, economic system, and emergency response system worked to resolve political uncertainty and minimize economic impact, showing resilience," Choi said. "I am confident that this time, it will be quickly stabilized by a sound and resilient economic system."
