The Seoul Southern District Court sentenced two club members suspected of violating the Narcotics Control Act to two and a half years in prison and three years of probation.
A specialist at a senior general hospital in Seoul, who is not a member of the club, was also sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation for purchasing, storing, and administering drugs from the chairman, Yeom.
The court explained the reason for the sentencing, saying that it is not easy to detect drug crimes and social harm is great.
The first trial will be held on January 8 next year for the chairman of the university club, identified only by his surname Yeom, who is suspected of supplying them with drugs.
In a final hearing last month, the prosecution demanded a seven-year prison term for Yeom.
