The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency said today that broadcast exports are expected to be very cloudy next year through the "2025 Korea Content Export Outlook Report."
Analysts say that the reason is that domestic drama production costs have risen significantly, resulting in poor price competitiveness in the export market and serious dependence on global OTT platforms.
The survey involved 167 content industry field experts and gave 2.9 out of 7 points in a scale evaluation of broadcast content export prospects.
The evaluation method is based on 4 points, which gives 5 points or more if the outlook is bright and 3 points or less if it is bad, and broadcasting received the lowest score among the nine content industries.
