At least 25 people, including children, were killed when a ship overturned in a river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, the Associated Press reported.

The ship, which had an accident, departed from the village of Inongo, Maiendombe, northeast of the capital, Kinshasa, on the 17th local time, with more than 100 passengers on board and capsized while sailing along the Pimi River.

At least 25 bodies have been recovered so far, and dozens of people are reported missing, according to local rescue officials.

Hundreds of people have been killed or missing in ship accidents in Democratic Congo this year, with 80 people killed in a ship sinking on the western Quagang River on June 10.
