Yesterday (18th), the KOSPI recovered to the 2,480 level due to a double buying trend by foreigners and institutions.

The KOSPI also closed higher on the back of individual buying.

The KOSPI rebounded in three trading days and recovered to the 2,480 level.

The KOSPI, which started higher, expanded its gains and closed at 2,484.43, up more than 1% from the previous trading day.

Individuals sold a net more than 460 billion won, but foreigners bought a net 268 billion won and institutions bought a net 134 billion won.

In particular, foreign investors were buying for the first time in seven trading days, leading the index's rise, the second-largest net purchase after the 3rd this month.

The recent perception that the KOSPI's fall is excessive has led to an influx of low-priced purchases.

[Kim Yong-gu / Sangsang Certification Institute: The internal political uncertainty is finding order anyway, and the supply and demand environment is driven to the level of a severe downturn, which leads to low-priced buying by foreign investors]

The KOSDAQ index was once on the decline during the day, but it rebounded and closed at 697.57, up 0.45% from the previous trading day.

Despite selling by foreigners and institutions, individuals bought a net 45 billion won, leading the index to rise.

The local currency lost 3.4 won to 1,435.5 won as of 3:30 p.m. against the U.S. dollar in the Seoul foreign exchange market, falling for the first time in four trading days.

Amid heightened vigilance ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy rate decision, foreigners' net buying of the domestic stock market and the alertness of foreign exchange authorities' intervention seems to have worked.
