The winner of the 'Best Work Award' is automatically a candidate for the grand prize.

The "Japanese Record Awards" is a music awards ceremony hosted by the Japanese Composers Association, which began in 1959 and has the longest tradition and authority in Japan. The ceremony is broadcast live on TBS on December 30 every year.
