Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, finally hinted at trying for the fourth term.

Chairman Chung said, "I've been thinking a lot and listening to various people's opinions. I deeply feel the criticism and disappointment of the people," he said.

It took a long time to reflect on myself, and I thought that if I quit here, I would not fulfill my responsibilities as the president of the association, which I have tried for the past 12 years," he said, suggesting the meaning of running for office. He also emphasized that he would accept criticism without adding or subtracting it and use it as a nourishment for the development of the association.

He then preached major pledges to restore trust in the Korea Football Association through drastic reforms, innovate the governance structure through the attendance of the board of directors and general meetings of ordinary citizens, complete the Cheonan Football Center and complete the divisional promotion system.

When asked about the government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's views on the "suspension of the president's duties" in a later question-and-answer session, Chairman Chung dismissed it, saying, "The government seems to have some misunderstanding."
