According to foreign media
, Israeli forces launched retaliatory airstrikes shortly after intercepting missiles fired from Yemen.
The air raid area is a capital and port city controlled by Houthi rebels, and Houthi-run media outlet Almasira TV claimed power plants and oil facilities on the Red Sea were targeted.
Al-Mashira TV says nine people have been killed in Israeli retaliatory airstrikes.
"Israel will act without hesitation to defend its people against Houthi attacks," said Major General Daniel Hagari, a senior spokesman for the Israeli military, confirming that airstrikes were carried out on energy facilities and port infrastructure.
Earlier, missiles were fired at Israel from Yemen, prompting air raid warnings in Tel Aviv and many other central regions.
The Israeli military confirmed it had raised the alarm because of fears of missile debris falling, and stressed that the missiles fired by the Houthis immediately intercepted them.
Houthi rebels have continued to attack Israel under the pretext of supporting Hamas, which is fighting a war in Gaza, even after Israel struck a cease-fire deal with Lebanese militant Hezbollah.
