Kim Seol-hyun expressed her feelings about working with director Kim Hee-won, an actor senior.

Today (19th) an interview was held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, with Kim Seol-hyun, who appeared in the Disney+ original series "The Lighting Shop."

Based on Kang Pul's webtoon of the same name, "The Lighting Shop" is a drama about people who stand at the boundary between life and death who find the only lighting shop at the end of a dark alley. It is the first production of actor Kim Hee-won, and actors Joo Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, Bae Seong-wu, Um Tae-gu, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Min-ha, Park Hyuk-kwon, and Kim Dae-myung also appeared.

It set a remarkable record for No. 2 in the Disney+ TV Show category (as of Flixpatrol on Dec. 9).

Kim Seol-hyun played Lee Ji-young, a woman sitting alone at a bus stop every night in the play. Kim Hyun-min (played by Um Tae-gu), who talks to him every day, says questionable words, creating a mysterious atmosphere.

On the same day, Kim Seol-hyun said, "I cast Seol-hyun because she was like a rustic rural woman," at a production presentation, "When I heard a certain evaluation, I thought, 'I can think that way.'"

"The director came and told me the reason later, but I think he explained it in case I was hurt," he said with a smile.

"The director said he wanted to tell me that I am a person who conveys people's common feelings and situations as well as their sparkling and colorful appearances in this drama," he said.

"I was very nervous before the first shooting," he said, "but what really surprised me was that the director tried to act all the scenes of our actors in advance and thought about what to do."

"Although each director has a different method, the director seems to be considering the real actor's character acting together," he said. "He directed with the fact that he wanted the actors to be satisfied with their acting, so all the actors were satisfied."

He shed a lot of tears and also talked about the behind-the-scenes of having to act as a ghost.

He said, "There were many things that were disabled and limited, rather than certain scenes that were particularly difficult. However, in the end, I tried to contain my will to save Hyun-min, he said, adding, "I don't think it was very difficult because the director explained it well."

"I want to praise myself because I think I spent time well this year," Kim Seol-hyun said. "When I was a singer, I took the initiative to make an album and set the release date, but I was nervous at first because I had to choose my acting career. I think I spent that time well this year, and I'm proud that I filled the gaps well," he said.

'Light Shop' is an eight-part series, and all of them were released until the 18th.
