Actor Song Joong-ki of
expressed his feelings about expressing a new character with the movie 'Bogota: Land of Last Chance'.
The press distribution preview of the movie "Bogota: Land of Last Chance" was held at Megabox COEX at 2 p.m. today (19th). Director Kim Sung-je, who directed the film, and actors Song Joong-ki, Lee Hee-joon, Kwon Hae-hyo, Park Ji-hwan and Kim Jong-soo attended the press conference held shortly after the press distribution preview on the day to talk about the work.
'Bogota: The Land of the Last Chance' (hereinafter referred to as 'Bogota') is a story about Kook-hee (Song Joong-ki) heading to Bogota, Colombia, on the other side of the world with new hope, becoming entangled with Sooyoung (Lee Hee-joon) and Park Byeong-jang (Kwon Hae-hyo), influential figures in the Korean community in Bogota.
The film captures the growth, conflict, and turbulent survival of Koreans who have become strangers in faraway countries as an intense crime drama genre.
First, director Kim Sung-je said, "It is a work that deals with the desires, conflicts, friendships and betrayal of people who have left far away in search of the wide world but are trapped in a much narrower community. I also wanted to portray the emotions of a young man who became an adult too early," he said, explaining the intention of directing the work.
He then said, "I wanted to cut and show that section of the story from a long time ago. In that aspect, it is also a movie that changes relationships with all characters, creates conflicts, and finally heads for catastrophe or growth, centering on the most important event," he added.
Song Joong-ki said, "I think you can feel a little similar emotions to the previous works, 'Rogi-wan' and 'Hwaran', but if the two characters are not motivated and have no sense of life, the national play of 'Bogota' is independently firm in their will and desire." I like to play things I haven't done before, but in this movie, I wanted to express a character that is changing into one thing about survival," he said.
In addition, he said, "I am grateful that the work I have worked on for a long time can greet the audience. I will try to approach the audience humbly and confidently like a professional," he said, not forgetting the love call for the prospective audience.
'Bogota' is scheduled to be released in theaters on the 31st.
