The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed regret over the Russian government's comment to the effect that South Korea is responsible for the unstable situation on the Korean Peninsula, citing allegations that the Yoon Suk Yeol government tried to declare an emergency martial law by inducing North Korea's provocation.

A Foreign Ministry official said, "It is inappropriate for a spokesperson of a foreign government to denigrate our consistent policies using our domestic political situation and to publicly comment on claims that are inconsistent with the facts."

He stressed that Russia and North Korea urge them to stop transferring responsibility for their unjustified illegal activities and immediately stop military cooperation that undermines peace in Northeast Asia and Europe.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mariya Zakharova claimed South Korea regularly executed plans to provoke North Korea to destabilize the situation and then blame or blame North Korea.
