Zelensky to attend EU summit... "U.S.-EU unity can stop Putin"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed that only when the United States and the European Union are united can we stop Russian President Putin and save Ukraine.

President Zelensky told reporters today (19th) before attending the EU summit in Brussels, Belgium, saying early next year is really important.

He then said it would be difficult to support Ukraine alone in Europe without the help of the U.S. and that he would discuss the issue when U.S. President-elect Trump takes office.

It added that additional air defense weapons and energy infrastructure support for Ukraine were also discussed at the EU summit.

President Zelensky arrived in Brussels yesterday and visited NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutter for a dinner meeting with the leaders of NATO and EU major countries.

Russian President Putin held an annual news conference in Moscow today as the EU summit was held, arguing that Russian forces were moving closer to achieving their goals as they advanced on the front lines.

At the same time, he stressed that he would push Ukrainian forces back from the Kursk region in western Russia and take back territory.
