Temperatures at Panmunjom in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, dropped to minus 15.6 degrees Celsius, while most of the central and Gyeongsangbuk-do inland areas also recorded around minus 15 degrees Celsius.

Due to the cold wind, some mountainous areas, such as Seolcheonbong Peak in Muju and Seoraksan Mountain in Yangyang, have experienced temperatures below minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Seoul also recorded its lowest temperature this winter, getting colder than the day before, and the wind chill stayed below minus 10 degrees Celsius for two consecutive days.

Fortunately, the cold did not last long, so the temperature rose from daytime and recovered to normal levels, but it is expected to snow on the weekend.

When this cloud belt recedes, continental high pressure with cold air expands again, repeating the three-day cold and four-day mild cycle.
