Polls show that a majority of Americans oppose U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's policies, such as mobilizing the military to deport illegal immigrants and pardoning those involved in the congressional invasion.

In a poll conducted by the Washington Post and the University of Maryland on 1,251 U.S. adults for five days from the 5th to the 9th local time, 54% of the respondents said they opposed Trump's use of U.S. troops to deport illegal immigrants.

In addition, 60% of respondents opposed Trump's use of the Justice Department to investigate political rivals, while 66% opposed pardoning those convicted in connection with the January 6th Congressional Crash (2021).

The January 6th incident was when some diehard supporters of Trump, who objected to the results of the 2020 presidential election, stormed the Capitol in Washington, D.C., to block the process of certifying the election against President Joe Biden on January 6, 2021.

Five people were killed and a number of police officers were injured within 36 hours of the outbreak, including one woman shot and killed as protesters stormed the parliament.

In addition, 88% opposed sending journalists to prison for reporting that Trump dislikes, and 72% opposed using force to crack down on protests against Trump.
