The government held the 7th National Advanced Strategic Industries Committee at the Seoul Government Complex presided over by Acting President Han Deok-soo today (20th) and confirmed a plan to support advanced strategic technologies.
In the robot field, one of the two new strategic technologies, humanoid robots that can move 3.3 meters per second and carry 20 kilograms of weight have been designated, and in the defense sector, core introduction and parts technology for advanced aviation engines above 15,000 pounds (lbf) for manned and unmanned aircraft have been designated.
In addition, the government will invest 25.5 trillion won next year, up 7.1 trillion won and 39 percent from this year, as policy financing to supply semiconductors and other four high-tech industries.
Acting President Han Deok-soo said, "We need to prepare to take external uncertainty as an opportunity," and stressed that he will pursue support for high-tech strategic personnel without wavering.
