has signed an "agreement on improving the operation of route buses" with 11 bus transportation companies in its jurisdiction, and announced that it will pay up to 1.2 million won in treatment improvement costs to long-term employees and new employees starting next year.
New transportation workers will receive 1 million won if they are trained at a city-designated training institution and work for more than 6 months, 1.2 million won will be provided to 300 long-term village bus transport workers, and 600,000 won will be provided to 400 city bus transport workers.
Through the agreement, transportation companies have decided to secure vehicles and recruit transportation workers in order to increase the driving rate by 20% from the present.
Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "There are many complaints about the interval between the dispatch of village buses by citizens," adding, "We decided to support the improvement of the treatment of transportation workers to help citizens who use public transportation."
