"Reporting for sexual intercourse and large amounts under the pretext of reporting drunk driving" imprisonment

A man in his 30s who demanded sex and money on the condition that he did not report it to the police after witnessing drunk driving was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence.

The Chuncheon District Court said it sentenced 33-year-old A, who was charged with attempted blackmail, to one year in prison and two years of probation and ordered 160 hours of community service.

Mr. A witnessed Mr. B parking behind the wheel of a car in which a chauffeur got off at the entrance of an apartment underground parking lot in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do on the night of March 8.

Later, A was put on trial on charges of attempting to extort money, asking for 10 million won if he did not have sex, saying he would report drunk driving if he did not have sex.

The court sentenced the suspended prison sentence in consideration of the poor nature of the crime, the fact that he was not reflecting on his wrongdoing at all, and the fact that he was not agreed with the victim.
