A seven-year-old girl died this morning local time after a teenager stormed an elementary school classroom in Zagreb and wielded a weapon.
In addition, a teacher and five other students were injured and taken to a downtown hospital.
The culprit is known to be a 19-year-old young man, but the motive for the crime has not yet been confirmed.
Local media released a video showing children evacuating schools and medical helicopters landing on the playground shortly after the incident.
Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic called it a terrible incident while presiding over a government meeting, and ordered a thorough investigation.
