A month before leaving office, the U.S. Joe Biden administration will officially announce a plan to provide additional weapons aid worth $1.2 billion to Ukraine and 1.7 trillion won in our money in a few days, Reuters reported on the 20th local time.

The plan will reportedly include air defense systems and artillery shells to intercept enemy missiles and drones.

The last round of support from the Biden administration under the Pentagon's Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.

With this, there is a possibility that the U.S. will cut off its weapons support to Ukraine.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who will take office on Jan. 20 next year, has expressed skepticism about the U.S. continuing to provide aid to Ukraine, arguing that European allies should shoulder more financial burdens.

Since February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine, the United States has pledged $175 billion in aid to Ukraine, 253 trillion won in our money, of which $61.4 billion was security aid.

Half of this security aid was ordered as a new product through the Security Assistance Initiative, and the other half was when the U.S. military sent weapons held under the presidential authority.
