Cold wave warnings have been issued in Gangwon-do, northeastern Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheong-do, and the central part of the country is expected to see a bitter cold of around minus 10 degrees Celsius this morning (22nd).

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the temperature is expected to drop by 5 to 10 degrees this morning from the north due to cold air of minus 35 degrees Celsius.

In Seoul, where a cold wave warning has not been issued, the temperature will drop to minus 6 degrees this morning, and the wind chill will drop to minus 12 degrees Celsius.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) urged special attention to traffic safety, saying that the rapid fall is likely to cause ice roads and road thin ice due to snow melting in some inland areas.
